Alvarez MD1000 Masterworks Acoustic Electric Guitar Review
Handcrafted guitars bring with them an already air of accomplishment -a feeling the maker felt as he slowly and lovingly build his masterpiece to his standards of perfect quality. Should you not own one already, enjoy this Alvarez MD1000 Masterworks Acoustic Electric Guitar Review. I must say I felt honored to review this instrument.
The very first impression the guitar made was one of quality and durability. I fell in love with the classical design lines that extended into a beautiful modern slim neck. As I picked it up, the instrument felt solid in my hands. Careful inspection revealed that the neck attached to the body with a very traditional dovetail joint - not something I see everyday.
Ebony wood gives the neck a solid feel and the twenty frets are perfectly placed and the perfect height for easy play. A dazzling oval inlay proudly marks the number 12 fret.
The back and sides were lovingly carved from solid Indian Rose wood that gives it a rich texture you cannot resist stroking. Again, this aspect puts this instrument in a class of its own. Ivory binding holds down the carefully seasoned spruce top. By tapping the sound box you can immediately hear the promises of richness in the sound.
Abalone was used to create an intricate circle round the sound hole. To finish the look, gold tuning mechanisms complete the impression and feel of quality. Even if you never played a guitar before, you will be swept away by this instrument that the manufacturers produced with such care and attention to detail that they stuck a lifetime warranty on it.
Playing the Alvarez felt natural as the design sits comfortably in hold. I should mention that this master series also include a cut away model also crafted from solid Indian Rose wood.
Going through some chords to test the sound, I got really excited by the evocative rich tone that filled my ears. Variations and complex tunes are complimented by the discerning look of this quality instrument. You want to play for appreciative audiences on this.
I did not have a problem finding the electric controls as the side placement makes total sense and offers immediate and accurate tuning. Careful thought went into this placement and it shows.
The electric version I tested boasted the well-known and very trustworthy 600T MKII electronics package that gave me full control of what sound I wanted to go out with crystal clear clarity.
If you are serious about your music and can appreciate a masterful design, the Alvarez MD1000 Masterworks Acoustic Electric Guitar should find its way into your collection.
