Guild F-412 Acoustic Electric Guitar
The Guild F-412 Acoustic Electric Guitar has been around for a lot of years, it seems, but they get tar is so well made and so highly appreciated by players of all abilities that grabbing one and making use of it is almost like a new experience every time one picks it up. This particular guild, with its 12 string set up, can be heard on numerous musical recordings.
Top notch construction abounds when it comes to this instrument. This model is a classic flat top and is placed in the lineup at what the company calls the artisan -- meaning someone really, really good at guitar playing -- level. And what's true about guitars is that even a new student or amateur player will become just a little better solely because of the quality of the guitar.
That's why this particular Guild model is so highly appreciated. It takes new players and make them better and takes better players and makes them even better than they once were. Perhaps that's because of the appreciation a player will have for such a guitar like this Guild or maybe it's just because the quality of the components and the construction of the model make for a really solid package.
In particular, Guild 12 string guitars are known for having an ability to project extreme clarity and sound, which is something not usually associated with many 12 strings. It's probable that the reason why this particular Guild sounds so clear is because of the nature of its solid construction. As far as size goes, body and scale lengths are the same as in their six string model but the 12 string uses a proprietary double truss rod system and a bracing pattern unique to a jumbo body guitar.
The back and sides of the guitar feature high-quality maple while the top uses the best quality of spruce that can be found. This combination of maple and spruce has been proven over the years to be very effective in delivering very clear sound and intonation. There are 20 frets running up the length of the neck, with a total scale length of 25 5/8 inches.
Hardware all around is top-notch, and features gold plated Grover tuning machine heads. The electronic pickups that come with this particular model are famed for their ability to pick up even the slightest grace note or pick harmonic over a fret. That's why a Guild is usually standard equipment in almost any rock band's acoustic song set.
The Guild F-412 Acoustic Electric Guitar comes with a free deluxe hard shell case that is almost bombproof, protecting the guitar from the rigors of the road or the casual attitude demonstrated by people in a club who might accidentally kick the guitar and case over. Like most Guild guitars, this one isn't particularly inexpensive, to be sure. But most will come with a decent discount from the retailer.
