Ovation Adamas 1590-MEii 12 String Acoustic Electric Guitar Review
Designed with the help of Melissa Etheridge, a world famous singer known for her strengths both in singing and song writing, the Adamas 1590 MEii 12 stringer saw the light. Me Etheridge should actually be doing this Ovation Adamas 1590-MEii 12 String Acoustic Electric Guitar Review, but seeing that I do this for a living, my opinions should be good for today.
Since the day I saw my fist Adamas guitar that proclaimed the use of carbon fiber in the construction of these fine instruments, this had me fascinated. Could this instrument that now obviously boasted strength beyond compare have the same sound, volume and pitch as a natural product like wood will deliver? The only way to find out was to actually play one.
I cannot describe the sound the guitar produced as anything but stellar in nature. Well-rounded, balanced crystal clear notes and chords with the perfect resonating after sound possible filled my ears. I was astounded.
The mid depth cut away on the body gave easy access to strings and frets in that position and I found it very easy to slip in there and play without much of a body movement. The neck made up of 5 pieces of mahogany, maple and ebony wood complemented by a ebony fret board and urethane oiled finish provide an ultimate experience in playability with mind blowing projection as added bonus.
Again Adamas decided to go with an ebony solid wood bridge, gold tuners and beautifully crafted epaulettes made from exotic wood. This guitar looks just as good as it sounds.
Although not visible, the top was made from carbon fibers weaved in one direction only. This gives ultimate strength to a thin top. Sound just explode from within this unique sound box without that heaviness making it fall down in the first row of listeners. This sound carries the way a human trained voice would carry.
I am always a bit weary of twelve stringed guitars and the electronics they used as the delicate nuances and fine tonal differences a 12 string player creates can easily be lost due to a pick up of inferior quality, bit in this case the manufacturer spend good time and thought before he inserted the original Ovation patented pick up and OP Pro electronics.
Together these electronic systems function to produce a sound so clear and true to acoustic sound that I must admit I struggle to find any differences.
In my mind, it will be a long while before any make or model will dethrone this guitar as leader of electric / acoustic 12 snares.
